There are quite a few meshtastic users that will use their devices while on a commerical airline flight, blasting messages to Meshers below as they fly overhead. I'm going to assume this was the case.

First day I had my Ranger, I took it out driving. This popped up after several minutes of silence. It says I pinged something at 32,000 feet? I'm in Kansas, is this right? Or am I misreading this??...
It looks like the system doesn't have any power management included. is there a way to change that which I'm not aware of? is it possible to allow the Pi to go to sleep but have the radio still fun...
@Sigmund not yet but now that the kmod problem is fixed(!) that's next on my list.
What was your order number? Early on our Relays were programmed as "repeater" roles but we have changed them all to "client". If the device is on repeater you will not see it in the mesh.
@J SO were you able to get a fresh image installed?
@TX Programmer The Nano is smaller, however it runs REALLY hot. Almost too hot to the touch. The included heat sink really helps though. If you want to encapsulate it inside a device, position it a...
That's really good to know. It's much more compact!
The base station system will have an SDR for sure; though it may be an option since some folks might want to save the extra cost.
@Joe if you are a developer and interested in contributing code, please let me know if you would be interested in participating in the HyperMesh development effort.
I do like this unit. I'm heavily considering adding some code to the codebase, but still going over the github open issues. Stuck a whip antenna on it, but have no idea whether that improved ...
I generally cannot see the node, and was wondering what mode settings it runs. Thanks! --Joe.
Oh my! This is optimum! Perfect size, keyboard is GREAT. I knead another one of these! 😀 "And when the keyboard backlight flashed on, there was a tiny tear of joy."
After a bit of thought/experience. I don't think a SX1262 needs to be in the Bench Unit. Even low loss LMR cable will cost you 2-3 db in a 30-50 ft length. Maybe the better omni verticals can achie...
Nano 3 works well too. Same settings.
@Sigmund Southpaw I think I may have a solution for the SX1262 issue post updating the pi. Please backup your image first. This is experimental and while I have the system working on my device, I ...
Something like that is on the roadmap... and it will have some fun twists. When its closer to being materialized, we'll share and get your feedback, as well as of any other interested community mem...
@J Glad to be of help. You might take a look at the Bench LoRa post in "Comments". Adding a Nooelec NESDR Mini and a good outdoor vertical would make a "fun" Base Unit with built in Spectrum ...
Thanks! Adding a Nooelec NESDR Mini, a decent antenna, some RG-58 coax. Might make a marketable Spec5 base station?
