Any opinions on this?
Have tried other amps before, but not this one. The other unit I tried didn't really give me such a great functional advantage in terms of reaching sources I could not otherwise reach, to make it worth the hassle.
I have ordered this one and will share any insights as I make use of it.

Yes, the reviews on many others (at least on Amazon) were unfavorable. But this one appears to have numeous positive reviews.

Received the nooelec unit and have it working with a Nomad. The good news is:
1. It requires mini-USB power, but it conveniently powers off the Nomad itself.
2. It comes with a female to female connector which allows it to be secured to the Nomad directly. The antenna that ships with Nomad secures to the other end, so no need to procure additional plumbing.
3. It works. Didn't have any problems getting it to power up (a white LED indicates operation). Since it's amplifying the signal directly, there's no drivers or anything else needed.
Other than that, nothing spectacular to report just yet. Will continue to use it and come back if I uncover anything of interest.
