Both operate the same with Meshtastic but the ATAK version also lets the user use ATAK out of the box. This is a convenience feature we offer our users where we preconfigure ATAK. Of course, tech savvy users can do this on their own.
Not exactly what you were asking about but this video taught me a bunch about ATAK
