After a bit of thought/experience. I don't think a SX1262 needs to be in the Bench Unit. Even low loss LMR cable will cost you 2-3 db in a 30-50 ft length. Maybe the better omni verticals can achie...
Nano 3 works well too. Same settings.
@Sigmund Southpaw I think I may have a solution for the SX1262 issue post updating the pi. Please backup your image first. This is experimental and while I have the system working on my device, I ...
Something like that is on the roadmap... and it will have some fun twists. When its closer to being materialized, we'll share and get your feedback, as well as of any other interested community mem...
@J Glad to be of help. You might take a look at the Bench LoRa post in "Comments". Adding a Nooelec NESDR Mini and a good outdoor vertical would make a "fun" Base Unit with built in Spectrum ...
Thanks! Adding a Nooelec NESDR Mini, a decent antenna, some RG-58 coax. Might make a marketable Spec5 base station?
@Sigmund this is a HUGE help -- hadn't read this yet before replying in the other thread, will give this a shot tomorrow! thanks!!
@Sigmund any luck figuring out the SX1262 kmod issue? I dove into it a little the last couple days but no luck here.
Found an old, "official" 7" touchscreen I had around. So, I grabbed a 22 to 15 pin DSI display flex cable and cleaned up my bench LoRa "base unit".

@TX Programmer Understood. If you notice, I haven't published any part #s. Because it could undermine your sales. I figure I paid my $399 for my parts list and others are welcome to do the s...
@J My Shift key sometimes "drops out" on the cheap wireless keyboard I use on my media system. I meant 64MB SD Card (actually 8GB would be better since it is quicker to copy/xfer, etc. But size is ...
Never mind, after getting a second device up and running. All is well.
@TX Programmer I'll reply back here once I've got it working...
I finally received my SX1262 from Waveshare and was able to build a Meshtastic image on a 32GB SD card, on an 8GB Pi5 (on my dev workbench). This image is based on the current version (as o...
no problem, appreciate the response :)
No problem! I haven't tested the nano 3, but it doesn't appear as if there should be any issue. It is advertised as having an RTL2832U chipset, which should work.
