All of our devices run the meshtastic firmware, but there is one setting in the configuration that needs to be changed for ATAK. We provide the device with this setting set for you. This is a setting you can change yourself and it does not effect the device for normal meshtastic usage.
In the case of Meshtastic, Meshtastic only provides the communications medium, not the GPS or other group data, correct?
@Daniel_spec5 please elaborate on the "one setting in the configuration that needs to be changed for ATAK".
For example: What is the one configuration setting? Is how to change the one configuration setting documented in any Spec5 user manual?
Changing the "Role" from Client to "TAK" under radio settings in the meshtastic app. We don't have this detailed in our user manual yet we are hosting a webinar tonight where I will walkt through it live

The mesh radio will provide both Comms and GPS location data to ATAK
