I was looking at the Ranger, and I was wondering what is the difference between the meshtastic firmware and the ATAK? ATAK has a meshtastic plug in that allows it to connect to the device so I was curious what makes it beneficial for the ATAK
All of our devices run the meshtastic firmware, but there is one setting in the configuration that needs to be changed for ATAK. We provide the device with this setting set for you. This is a setting you can change yourself and it does not effect the device for normal meshtastic usage.
Changing the "Role" from Client to "TAK" under radio settings in the meshtastic app. We don't have this detailed in our user manual yet we are hosting a webinar tonight where I will walkt through it live
@Daniel_spec5 just to confirm.... ordering ATAK or having the setting as TAK will not affect others who are using my meshtastic nodes with the regular client setting? I intend to use meshtastic normally most of the time, but also ATAK occasionally... and I dont want to take-away from the operation of the mesh network in my area
