Help! Waveshare SX1262 Communication Problem?

  • Hello,

    The SX1262 card doesn't seem to be communicating with the RasPi. When I open the Meshtastic Web App and connect to Device "raspberrypi". The screens "pops up". But it still thinks it is somewhere close to Austin. The Nodes from that area show, but with "1 Month since last" displayed.

    There is a RED power light, on the SX1262. The green Xmit light flashes every two seconds or so.

    As a side note, I have disabled the transmitter in Config-Device-Radio Settings Transmit Enabled = Off. But the green light continues to flash - even after rebooting the RasPi.

    Finding no new Nodes doesn't really bother me since there may not be any close by right now. But the fact that the GPS isn't updating my position makes me suspect the radio isn't communicating with the RasPi.

    I followed the suggestions in the new manual.

    1. Device-Device Settings: Role = Client.
    2. Position-GPS Mode: = Enabled
    3. Device-Lora Region: = US

    What am I missing?

    Thanks! :-)

  • I HAVE been able to get the Map in the Meshtastic App to update to a "different" position. Although it

    isn't very accurate at all. I modified the following Meshtastic settings in the Web UI:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Channels

    Channel 0  PRIMARY
    Uplink Enabled  TRUE
    Downlink Enabled TRUE
    Allow Pos Requests TRUE
    Precise Location TRUE
    Pos Precision  45m

    <Press Submit>

    MQTT
    Enabled   TRUE
    Mesh Reporting  Enabled
    Approx Location  50m

    <Press Disk Icon>

    Network
    Ethernet Config  Enabled
    Address MODE  DHCP

    <Press Disk Icon>

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    At least now various other nodes around the country show up, although NO ONE answers a chat request. So this ISN'T Ham Radio by any stretch. Hams are friendly and social.

    :-/

  • Never mind, after getting a second device up and running. All is well.
