My Mini Trekker battery life is very short. I'm only getting 2-3 hours of life after a full charge, even when not communicating with any other nodes. I'm running firmware version 2.7.15.567b8ea. Any ideas?

The Mini Trekker usually offers a battery life of around 2 to 3 hours under normal conditions, so the runtime you're observing is within the expected limits for this device. If you wish to prolong usage, some users opt to utilize external battery packs or modify the transmission settings based on their configuration.
The newer firmware seems to increase the bluetooth communication between the device and the app. Another thing to look at is decreasing the GPS update. The Mini has a 1200mah battery and being ESP32 based it is not as efficient as other radio modules
