Anyone figure out a good way to way to get a belt clip on one of these? I am thinking 3d printed would be a horrible option.
I use a carabiner generally. I don't think a 3D printed belt clip would last.
Would a Trekker style metal clip be a useful upgrade?
I bought a belt clip before opening it.
Now I see. There isn't enough room to mount a belt clip because the battery is right there on the back plate of the ranger.
There isn't even enough room for a piece of thick file folder on top of the battery and the flat head of a chicago screw is thicker than that. It would need a slightly deeper back plate and like stand off nubs to make enough space between the back plate and the battery so the the chicago screw head won't touch the battery. Needs about a 1/8 of an inch.
Back wall is some where around around 1/8 to 1/16 thick so a coarse screw would have to be really short.
Seems like the only way is with a deeper back plate
I figured out a solution and will post after I have tried it out to see if it holds up.
