successful MeshCon

  • I enjoyed meeting everyone today at Meshcon. Great topics and conversation. It was also very interesting to see aerial meshtastic nodes on the drone and balloon. I was a bit surprised we didn't see more remote nodes bouncing off the balloon, as high as it went.

  • Thanks for coming. Enjoyed meeting you too, Mike. Great discussion there in the end, and plenty of things to work on over the next few weeks.

The balloon launch was my favorite too, and I was quite surprised by high how it went and how long it lingered in range.

The autonomous circuit the fixed wing drone flew was more tame, but tactically useful in comparison!

  • I wanted to archive an image of the Reddit thread where various Meshtastic users posted about their connections with the S5_Balloon, launched during MESHCON yesterday,  from Florence, TX.

    A connection 219.5 miles away!

  • First off I want to express what a good time Ruth and I had at your event yesterday - I love your products the build quality and I am working hard to develop a large network for San Antonio with our Amateur Radio Club. When it comes to RF I am highly knowledgeable and my Amateur Station communications from 160 meters through 10 gig a hertz and does so on a global level, and even on microwave levels with reflections off the moon. But my networking and Meshtastic working knowledge is ignorant at best :). I would really have liked to see more technical information - and a session on how to program setup and why you should choose or want to choose specific settings? I would have come away fully satisfied if we had focused an hour or so on settings, configuration and basic over all operations. I HOPE YOU HAVE future events, and these are some things you cover in those future events.

  • Greg, Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, we will plan on more hands-on time in the future. If we can help you configure Meshtastic, please do write to us or call us and we'll see what we can do to be of assistance.
