SpecDeck Your Field Control Panel

SpecDeck is Nomad Command Kit's custom launcher: a touch-friendly button grid organized across Field, Radio, and System tabs. Every tool is one tap away from anywhere on the device.
What makes SpecDeck powerful is that it's fully customizable. Every button runs a script, and that script can do anything. Out of the box it gives you instant access to all of Nomad Command Kit's built-in tools but you can extend it to turn your Nomad2 into a field automation controller:

• Trigger remote web service calls and hit any internal or external API endpoint with a single tap.
• Execute commands on a remote machine via SSH, run operations on another device on your network without touching a keyboard.
• Send FTP requests to an outbound server, push files or data payloads to a remote destination on demand.
• Fire external automations, connect your Nomad2 to any workflow, home automation system, or remote process and trigger it from the field.

This makes Nomad Command Kit more than a software suite; it becomes a portable controller for any networked environment you operate in.

Communications

Meshtastic Mesh Radio

Off-grid text messaging over long distances with no internet, no cellular, and no infrastructure required. Nomad Command Kit includes the full Meshtastic web interface for sending and receiving messages across a mesh radio network.

WiFi Hotspot Mode

Turn the Nomad2 into a wireless access point and share its connection with other devices in the field. Fully configurable network name and passphrase.

Offline Intelligence Disaster Drive

Disaster Drive is an offline content server that starts automatically on boot and serves critical reference material to any device on the same network no internet required, ever.

• Offline Maps: full vector road and city maps for North America, viewable and navigable in any browser
• Medical References: first aid, emergency care, and medicine guides
• Survival & Field Guides: water and sanitation, food safety, tools and repairs, field improvisation
• Radio & Comms References: mesh radio, frequency guides, and field communications protocols
• Local Documents: add your own PDFs, manuals, or briefing documents and serve them to any device on the network
• Emergency Numbers: local emergency contact references

Field Utilities SpecFive Toolbox

The operational core of Nomad Command Kit, a multi-mode utility suite for network operations, recording, and field intelligence.

Network Scanner

Scan any local network and generate a detailed report on every connected device's IP addresses, hostnames, open ports, and service information.

Router Mode

Run Spec5 Nomad 2 as a full network router and access point. Control routing, DHCP, and connected clients on demand.

PXE Boot Server

Boot other machines over the network remotely; no USB drives or physical media required.

Camcorder

Record video and audio from a connected USB camera or microphone. Recordings are saved locally and ready immediately.

AI Transcription Fully Offline

Convert speech to text entirely on the device using a built-in AI model. No cloud, no API keys, no internet. Record a voice note, field observation, or meeting and get a text transcript in seconds.

Live System Monitoring

Status Overlay

A persistent heads-up display on the right side of the screen showing live system health at all times: CPU usage and temperature, memory, disk activity, active network connection with signal strength and IP, and real-time battery voltage, charge percentage, and current draw. Always visible, always on top.

SpecTV

Browse and stream thousands of live IPTV channels organized by genre when connected to the internet. Includes direct access to SpecFive's YouTube channel.

Update

Nomad Command Kit updates wirelessly and installs automatically. Tap Update, download the package, and the Nomad2 handles the rest no command line, no re-flashing required. Every previous version is backed up automatically so you can roll back at any time.
